Global Crisis: The Earth is heating and the pace is quickening.

Why isn’t everyone alarmed about the urgency of this crisis? It could be because corporate ownership of major media stifles much of the truth. Scientists say global climate change is a threat ‘second only to global nuclear war.’ It’s the biggest survival challenge humankind has ever faced.

Sadly, too many people are unaware that global heating is only one of the survival issues we face today. Of course, it wasn’t always this way.

Traditional Native Americans believe everything-from rocks to clouds, including every two legged, four legged, winged and finned creature, and the living green things of the forest-has spirit that deserves honor. Humanity is but a strand in the web of life. What we do to the web, we do to ourselves. To survive in the new millennium, we must evolve to the ecological maturity of the ancient tribes for our home IS the earth.

It’s easy to see the magnitude of environmental problems and feel like giving up. It’s even easier to ignore the facts. In honor of our forefathers, for our children’s future, we must not give up! Each of us CAN make a difference in our own way-but only if we keep informed of the problems and do our part to help.
